HP Firmware Update Blocks Use Of Non Genuine/Compatible Inks For Some Printer Models

If you were using unofficial replacement cartridges for your HP printer or MFP and it suddenly stopped working after a firmware update then chances are it is because the type of printer cartridge your using has been blocked by the printer. Originally it was thought to have only affected the following printers:
